Hamptons Homes For Sale Calgary
The Hamptons is an affluent community in the northwest part of Calgary, Alberta. It is home to the 18-hole championship golf course that winds throughout its community. The neighborhood is set north of Edgemont on a high and sometimes windy ridge and is extremely well kept by the local homeowners association. Residents of Hamptons have plenty to do during all four seasons as the community is rich in amenities, particularly recreational facilities.
Hamptons is unique in Calgary for several reasons. For one thing, the local community association and homeowners association are the same thing, and are conjoined to provide residents with the most comprehensive package of service possible. While this means that all residents have to pay an annual service fee, it also means that the community’s many collective beautification efforts are well-maintained, and the local recreational facilities are well-used throughout the winter and summer.
One of the bright spots of the Hamptons community is the local public school. This school is the first public/private venture of its kind in the province of Alberta, and has an outstanding reputation for providing quality education for young students in grades K-4. The school was built in 1999 and has a strong physical education program, as well as a healthy diversity of arts & technology courses. The school relies on community involvement and input to make sure that students are inspired to continue their learning process.
There is never a lack of things to do in the Hamptons, regardless of the time of year. In the summer, not only can residents play a round of golf, there are also tennis courts, an Olympic-sized hockey rink with sheltered bleachers, basketball courts, baseball diamonds and soccer pitches. Each of these areas is well-utilized by the community, and rarely stands empty for long.
Hamptons is a community primarily inhabited by high-earning professionals, and is one of the wealthiest communities in the Northwest. Local real estate prices support this. Property in the Hamptons has a tendency to appreciate and is usually safe to buy and resell. There are still new developments going up in the Hamptons to this day. In 2010 the average price for a single family residence was around $675,000. Many of the properties in the area sell for over $1 million. There are also several townhouses and condominiums on the market, which might sell for between #3-700,000.
